Superb mid 19thc oak carving of King John holding the Magna Carta. Dating c. 1860.

Excellent attention to detail on this fine quality oak carved plaque of King John. Beautifully carved in deep relief is the figure - head to waist - of King John. In his left hand King John holds a scroll: the Magna Carta. King John wears his crown and robed clothing. Really fine quality facial detail in particular but the entire carving is beautifully worked.

Measures some 8\" x 7\". Depth of carved figure of King John is approximately one inch.

Condition is excellent and age commensurate. Lovely. All as per images.
