This isa superb pair of Staffordshire porcellaneous male & female recumbentsheep of a ewe & a ram with the applied chipped decoration of which:

During our research we have been informed they certainlydate from the mid 19th century.

Date about c1840s.

Porcellaneous.

A left and right.

Recumbent pair ofsheep of a ram and a ewe with one having curly horns.

Intricate detailing to the sheeps faces.

Applied chipped decoration.

Mounted onto the decorative grassy bases with the wide gilt band around the circumferences.

Each hasan overall height of about 2.5inches.

Max overall size of the hollow bases of about 3 x 1.75inches.

Condition: Considering the age: the overall condition to both is very good and both are not subject to:

any major blemishes except:

one has early restoration to a curly horn.

Both have fine hairlines to the bases which can be seen from underneath.

All as perpictures.

Besides being a very collectable, pair of mid 19th centuryStaffordshire porcellaneous recumbent sheep, both with the applied chipped decoration, mounted onto the decorative hollow bases, c1840s, both would also look fabulous displayed.
