Please allow images to serve as part of the L. Diddel, sister of the artistMarguerite Merriam Diddel, was born January 25, 1901 in Denver. She attended Denver schools and studied at the University of Denver & UCLA. She completed a Master’s Degree in Education at Colorado State University at Greely. She also did special studies at Harvard University at Cambridge, Massachusetts & Tallar de Grafica, Mexico City, Mexico.

She created many paintings, etchings, prints, pottery which she exhibited at Joslyn Art Museum, 1931-1954; Lincoln ArtGallery, 1935-1954 and also other exhibits in Nebraska, Colorado, Florida as well as in traveling exhibitions through Kansas and Oklahoma. She was also the author of many articles on art education which appeared in publications in Nebraska, Ohio, and Massachusetts. She taught art for many years in Denver Public Schools and Colorado Colleges before becoming Associate Professor at Nebraska State Teachers College in Peru, Nebraska, 1929. She traveled to Mexico several times and painted many scenes from the daily life of the Mexican people.

Shewas a member of National Education Association, Nebraska Education Association, American Association of University Women, American Association of University Professors, Western Art Association, and Lincoln Art Guild. She also severed as art chairperson for Nebraska andNational Art Groups. She taught design, lettering, pottery, modeling, print-making, etching, drawing, painting, art appreciation, art history and art methods.
