Early 20th Century Women\'s Arts

Industrial Machine
Product Description:
Content: This painting features what appears to be a shipping yard from the early 20th century. A crane is featured jutting from the center, where smoke stacks reside. In the background a large ship seems to be in port either loading, or unloading its freight. The painting is set a night, with blues and yellows and greens dominating the color scheme. Low tone umbers highlight the action in the flow of the painting. The quality of work is astounding. The rise and fall of the strokes of oil are phenomenal.

I\'m honestly not sure why this painting is not in a museum. My first thought was actually to call someone to send it off, I still might. Not much information is readily available about this artist, and it being unsigned and untitled, my only clue to its origin is a small piece of torn paper glued to the back of the wood. The note reads what I was able to find online, the original owner must have known its origin and did what they could to keep its significance attached to this piece of art. This oil is extremely rare and quite remarkable, in its style and subject matter, painted in the first quarter of the 20th century by a female using an industrial or mechanical approach. For what little can be found of Weber\'s works online, her original etchings range from $150 - $450, whereas this large painting would be considerably more.
If you\'re interested, or know more about Weber and her Biography, please contact me. If you\'ve read this far, I am as much interested in this work as you are.
The note on the back reads: (note, the following has been pulled from online and not retyped and is the synopsis of the paper):
