Very large scaled SAN FELIPE model. Dimensions: 48" (L) x
15" (W) x 37" (H) or (122 cm x 38 cm x 94 cm)
This ship model is shipped to you fully
assembled and ready for display, except that the bowsprit is not in
position during shipping to reduce damage risk and to save on shipping
cost. Installing only involves tightening rigging lines since they're
correctly attached to the bowsprit.
Built from scratch with plank on frame construction.

The San Felipe, launched in 1690, was one
of the most beautiful Spanish galleons of the XVII century. She was the lead
ship of the famous Spanish Armada. The San Felipe displaced more than 1000 tons
and was armed with 96 cannons, enabling her to take on the most formidable ships
in the French and British navies. San Felipe’s role in the fight against Britain
and France was to aid in the defense of Spanish settlements and harbors while
transporting goods, and also to safeguard the hazardous journey back to the
Spanish ports from these colonies. In 1705, she participated in a furious and
heroic battle between 12 Spanish ships and 35 British ships. Captured by an
English ship, but so badly damaged that she could not be salvaged, the San
Felipe capsized, plummeting to the depths of the sea with several tons of gold
on board.
