~The Farm Sampler Kit~

Designed by and adapted from Sarah Salter's Colonial Sampler, Marblehead Massachusetts

Finish size of design is 16" x 15 3/4"

If framed and matted as show it will approx be 20" x 20"

The cut size of the linen is 21" x 20"

This is in excellent condition, factory sealed and had been put away the moment it was purchased many years ago as there is no wear to the outer package.

This reproduction kit is copied from an antique in the Colonial Williamsburg collection. Sarah Salter, probably of Marblehead, Massachusetts, executed the original in silk embroidery on tabby-woven linen.

The title of the sampler "The Farm" was inspired by the embroidered scene at the bottom of the sampler that depicts farm animals and birds coexisting peacefully in the summer.

This factory sealed kit will contain the design handprinted on pure linen, cotton floss, needle and diagrams with directions and stitch instructions.

For any season stitcher, it really is nice to have a historic sampler reproduction or in some of our cases (many). It also is a very nice way to get interested in a form of stitching that seems to be disappearing more and more with each passing year.
