The Sari dolls production was never completed, and is RARE!

Reflecting the changing demographics of life in Britain and the immense contribution of Indian immigrants on life in the UK, this doll was made during the abortive final year of production in Stockport in a reduced edition of around 400 pieces. Each sari is unique and made from a silk Indian scarf.

LAST ONE ! If you have wanted to add her to your collection don\'t wait because they don\'t come up very often! I had two of these gorgeous girls, so this is it!

1986 Sasha Black Hair Sari Doll wearing a unique Indian Silk Sari. Has purple as the background main color with designs of blue, pinky rose, white print.

Under her Sari she is wearing a white cotton top and underpants, long white cotton underskirt and she has on brown leather sandals.

Sasha wrist tag is attached, and she comes with a copy of the original instructions paper for how to dress and tie her Sari. The Sari has some sewing that holds the pleats in place, it\'s very easy to wrap.

Hair in original condition, not brushed. I tugged at her hair and she didn\'t have any falling hair. It\'s thick and longer than it looks because it\'s still in the original unwashed condition. Hair care sheet also included.

Box- good condition, not mint, creasing, tape over some tears, the cellophane has been taped on. NOTE: ID label on the box is missing.

I gently pulled at her her hair a didn\'t find any falling hair.

She had the rubber bands around her arms and so they left light marks on her white shirt.

Her arms have a few tiny rubs, I think they are from the box, I tried to capture it in the photos.

Foot has a mark from the sandals. These sandals want to twist a little when they are snapped and it\'s a tight fit, you have to tug a little bit to get them on. It\'s just because they are new and un-stretched but this is how they made them and didn\'t adjust for a little larger foot I think? You can get them to line up straight, just gently pull them.

Left leg is just a tad looser than the right, but she can pose, just have to get her positioned right.

I did see a few little pulls to the silk sari. These I think were not new made for Sasha, I think they purchased a lot of silk scarves and then made the sari from those, so this could have happened in the production. It\'s not terribly noticeable but I did see about 3 small ones and then one that was a little longer.

Each doll wore a traditional sari made from actual silk scarves from south Asia, rendering each doll\'s fashion unique and one-of-a-kind.
