Scott International Junior "dream" Album With 18,850+ Mint And Used Stamps $$$$$ For Sale
This sale is for a Blue Scott International Junior Postage Stamp Album that is absolutely crammed with premium stamps! The kind of find most collectors only dream about! In fact, I have never seen such a bulging album like this one and I have delt with hundreds of albums over the years and that is why I call this a "dream album"! This album came from the John Blackburn Estate with 18,850+ mint and used stamps inside including some stamps never hinged (sorry no US). This album is in poor condition and all of these stamps need a new home.......ideally a Scott Brown series but an album that allow for page insertsat least. Most of the countries have loose stamps laying between the pages and a scattering of them are never hinged. This album has a copyright date of 1943.
Many collectors look for this kind of collection because it includes many "surprise" stamps and varieties that they can use to infill their collections and often some real "finds". I went through each page to count stamps and to check if countries were missing. Only the US section is gone. Every other country is present. I spent extra time to make sure you know what you are offerding on. This album contains 18,850 different mint and used stamps based upon my page by page count and I was starting to see double after a while and may have missed a few here and there! That is a lot of stamps to sift through and enhance your collection and should provide you hundreds of hours of enjoyment. None were checked for perforations or watermarks so you will end up with many sleepers and keepers here! The list below lists stamps all the stamps plus a miscellaneous category of 69 stamps to cover Countries not listed.
As I was counting and photgraphing stamps, I saw numerous premium stamps such as Bavaria 13, Canada 14, 17(faults), 21(mint), 24, 27, 28, 100, 101, France 37(fault), B66-67 (both mint), North German District 12 (mint), Germany 92b, Great Britain 1 and 1a(faults), 27(two copies), 42a, 81, 107, 108, 139, 180, Mauritius 10, Netherlands 6, Newfoundland 54 (mint), Sweden 9, and Turkey in Asia 41.
So many other fine and valuable stamps such as Aden 1-7(mint), Andorra 64, Antigua 58used, Australia 6, 9, 48, 50, 76, 151, 161, Austria had 110-120(all mint), great early issues, mint semi postals like B71-76 and B142-155 along with many airmails. Azores had nice mint sets such as Q1-Q14, and 118-139. Bavaria had 4, 9, 12, 13, and many postally used. Belgium had many complete semi postal sets. Canada was loaded with 14, 15, 25, 35(mint),54, 56, 75(mint) 99, 140 and 157mint, 158-159, E3 and E4 mint, J8 and lots more mint including NH items. Other items included Iceland 15, 17, 18, 25, 125, and 193mint. Netherlands had 1, 2, 4, and New Brunswick had 6, 8, and 9. Great Britain had so many nice stamps such as 49, 59, 84, 99, 120, 121, 137, 179, and more. There were so many other nice valuable selections with high catelogue values of $50+ that I could write several more paragraphs. With so many good stamps throughout, it is hard to name all the individual stamps....it just takes too much time. Overall, this Worldwide album has a nice selection of sets, air mails, semi postals, back of book, etc. to augment your collection or help your collection reach investment quality.
