This is a rare antique pewter ice cream mold made in the early 1900s, by Eppelsheimer Co. in NY. This is a lovely collectable.
These types of molds were popular as a way of serving ice cream. Pewter ice cream molds are extremely popular among those who collect food or ice cream memorabilia, and this one would make a great part of a patriotic Americana collection as well. This mold is considered an individual serving size.
Details on face, robes and flowers are amazing. Mikado is seated in the lotus position. It is a hinged two piece mold and stands approximately 3.75" tall. Exterior is stamped with the number 201.
Interior is in great condition. Exterior shows its age from handling and use (dinks and scratches), but still in good shape. Copy is very worn; number stamp is very legible, E&Co stamp is very worn.
