Seneca No.2 Folding 4 X 5 Camera - Wollensak Shutter - 3 Cut Film Holders - Case For Sale
This Seneca No. 2 Camera was manufactured by the Seneca Camera manufacturing company from circa 1903 to 1912. Designed as a compact folding camera capable of exposing glass plates. The No. 2 is similar to the No. 1 except that it is fitted with a Rapid Rectilinear lens and the Wollensak shutter. This camera is constructed of Mahogany with an ebony finish, covered in seal grain leather, the bass hardware is nickel plated and the bellows are made of red Russian leather lined with gossamer cloth. Features include a rising and falling front, a back with spring actuated ground glass panel for focusing, a clamp with automatic press-button, a brilliant reversible view finder and two tripod sockets. This is a 4 x 5 size.Given its age, this Senca is absolutely beautiful. Yes, there are some signs of wear on the edges of the camera and it is missing the handle strap. But..... The bellows are clean and "light-tight." The Wollensak shutter fires at all stops, as designed. The handsome woodwork is very sharp. A great piece for your mantle.
