Serviced Antique Seth Thomas Shasta Adamantine Clock C1915:
Antique Seth Thomas Shasta Adamantine Mantle Clock c1915. The paper dial is original and has a small piece missing near the number 9. Other than that, the case is original and in remarkable shape. The movement has been restored by me. It has been taken apart, ultrasonically cleaned, most of the bushings were replaced as needed and both mainsprings with proper new 3/4" x 0.015" x 108" loop end mainsprings. It sounds a bell once on the half hours and strikes the hours on a gong which makes a deep, rich tone.
It is an 8-day clock. I recommend winding once per week. The model of the movement is No. 89C. It is a countwheel striking system. The original bob is of course included. The key is a reproduction of the original and fits and operates well.It is 17-1/2" wide x 6-3/4" deep x 10-5/8" tall.
Adamantine clocks are wood with a painted finish. They were intended to compete with French mantle clocks made from slate. The full columns on this model are an early form of plastic. I've had this one running since September 2015 and it is hard to let it go...Good luck!
