A set of 6 matching George III periodsolid sterling silver teaspoons or egg spoons, made by Peter and William Bateman, and each hallmarked for London 1810.
The spoons are Old English pattern with unusual long and pointed bowls (egg spoons ?), and each one has the engraved initial R, in script, to the terminal.
The spoons aretop struckto the reverse with the makers mark PB/WB, the lion passant, the date letter P (1810 - 11) and the George III duty mark. There is no town mark on the spoons, but they are almost certainly London.
Condition : The makers marks are very rubbed on each spoon(almost illegible) with the exception of 2 (which I've photographed below), andthe bowl on one spoon has some dimpling, otherwise Very Good with no damage or repairs.
Each spoon measures approx 4 3/4" / 12.3cm in length and the combined weight is 69.1 g or 2.44 oz.
