Set Of 6 Aesthetic Brown Transferware Plates - Chelsea 1884:
This is one of several listings that I have for English Aesthetic Movement transferware this week, and will continue to list many other pieces over the next several weeks / months.
Manufactured by Powell, Bishop & Stonier, a Staffordshire Pottery in England, with the English Rd No dating its registration to 1884. This set of six Victorian plates are in the pattern "Chelsea" and feature delicate, brown transfer scrolled borders with various sprigs of flowers and tiny dragonflies scattered throughout the pieces.
With light crazing consistent with pieces of this age and the standard manufacturer's stilt marks, the plates measure approximately 9" in diameter. There are very slight variations in the background color, indicating that the plates may have been accumulated at different times. One of the plates has a small 3/16" nick on the rim, otherwise all six plates are in overall excellent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs.
I also have a set of smaller plates and a platter in this pattern currently understand that shipping costs can be a bit daunting these days! Just so you know, I don't add to the shipping price what it costs me for any cartons and packing material to assure your piece(s) are well packed to arrive safely to you. I have added two shipping options for you to chose from (USPS Priority which is usually a 2-3 days arrival time to you after shipment and USPS Ground, which will take a longer amount of time to arrive but oftentimes costs less.)
I am very happy to combine pieces for significantly reduced shipping costs. If you are the winning buyer on multiple pieces, please wait to send payment until I have packed the pieces and sent an invoice.
