Set Of 12 Dinner Forks In Wm Rogers Mfg Co 1953 Jubilee Pattern:
This is a lot or set of 12 vintage matching silver plated dinner forks in the JUBILEE pattern, each just under 7¼" long. The set was manufactured by WM ROGERS MFG. CO. AA - I.S. (INTERNATIONAL SILVER COMPANY) and it dates back to 1953. There are no monograms on the forks.
This is a relatively heavy, very substantial set of silver - and, according to my silverware book, a very commonly collected pattern as well. It's really lovely, with a beautiful raised floral and petaled pattern on the end of each handle (see photos below). The lady from whom I acquired it told me that her mother had received these forks (& the rest of the JUBILEE flatware set) as a wedding gift in the mid-1950s, but had never used it. The set sat around in a silverware box for 60+ years!
The set is in overall excellent/near mint condition. There's NO silver loss, NO pitting, NO dark or worn spots, and absolutely NO heel marks - which is remarkable for such old pieces of silver! All shine very brightly, as illustrated in the photos below. You can place this flatware on your table as soon as you remove it from it's wrappings.
NOTE: In the photo directly below, any lines and dark spots on the fork tines are actually NOT on the forks. What you're seeing is the reflection of a telephone cable from the late afternoon Michigan summer sun.
