Set of Eight Solid Silver Monarchs of The Century Tea Spoons 1837-1937For sale, A boxed set of eight hallmarked solid silver tea spoons " Monarchs of the Century 1837-1937 ". The hallmarks are for Sheffield maker CB, Cooper Brothers, Date letter T for 1936.
All eight spoons have the same hallmarks and the fitted box is correct to spoons. The box is in good condition with some colour loss which adds to its appeal.
Cooper Brother & SonsThe firm was founded in 1866 in Sheffield as Cooper Brothers. In the directory of 1871 their address is given as "14.1/2" Hight Street. By 1876 the firm had moved to Bridge Street in 1885 they purchased the Arundel Street works until 1983. The business was acquired by Frank Cobb & Co. Ltd.
