Shining Star - Vintage Japanese Kimono Nagoya Obi Belt Sash Tie Women Silk Gold:
You are viewing a VINTAGE Japanese Nagoya Obi. Nagoya Obi are informal to semi-formal belts worn with kimono. They are usually worn with komon or houmongi kimono. Nagoya Obi are characterized by the fact that they have a narrow end and a wide end. The narrow end wraps around the waist, while the wide end is used to tie the obi knot. This obi likely originates in the Showa Period (1926 - 1989). It features a lovely floral pattern in gold and silver lame that resembles shining stars.
I have inspected this obi in detail, and it has a fair bit of patina all over. Overall I would rate this obi as being in fair to average vintage condition. There are no tears, holes or seam separations. I believe this garment is 100% silk.
