This one is both colorful and perfectly detailed - they don't get much better! Thatamazingly light, coffee and cream coloredwood grain pattern is one of the fanciest and most unusual that I've seen in afull round from this famous location. There is an amazing agate display mixed in with the petrified wood that includes a golden calcite crystal lined cavity and lovely blue agate. This one also hassome of the most dramatic and interesting wood grain of any I've ever cut from this forest and itmakes a really interesting display. Combined with our unmatched lapidary work you've got an impressive show piece! This is as good as they get folks - a true collector piece cut from the center of the log.

Eden Valley is a vast petrified forest in central Wyoming, home to the Blue Forest and several otheruniquely preserved beds of small branches and occasional logs. The digging is hot and dusty, but every once in a while you stumble on a real treasure and this little log is one of them! The dark, blue/black, coffee and chocolate colors the wood is preserved in are characteristic of these specimens, as are the infusions of agate that filled the cracks and coated the log!
This is a perfectly flat slice from theend of a larger than average sized log from a pepperwood tree. It's been cut and polished to show off all the gemmy detail from this 50 million year old treasure captured inside. It took a pretty awesome polish - something we strive to produce on every specimen we put our name on! The fiberous cell structure of the radial wood grain is exceptional and easily studied with a hand lens.
This is a nice, eye catching specimen, and it is close to perfect - something that will show proudly in any collection. It measures about7 1/4" across the polished face and is betwen 0.4" and 1.3" thick (varies because it is the heel cut and it is naturally weatherd on the back).
