Norman Seaweed, a member of the Kwagiulth First Nation, was born inAlertBay, a small town on British Columbias Pacific Northwest Coast of Vancouver Island. His mother’s family is fromthe VillageIslandand his father’s family is fromTurnourIsland. He comes from a large family of well known artists, wood and silver carvers and learned his skills in jewelery carving from Lloyd Wadhams, when he started in 1978. His three brothers are also very talented and the Name "Seaweed" is highly sought after when it comes to any kind of jewelry, bracelets, earrings, rings, pendants and necklaces.Norman's pieces can be found in the finest Galleries on theNorthwestCoastas well as in private collections.
