This lovely Silverplate Butter Dish has a uniquely designed domed lid. The lid is attached with hinges that let the lid roll open and closed. When you pull the handle on the lid up, the lid rolls back and gets tucked under the bottom. When you're ready to close the lid, you just push the handle back down and it closes. There are 3 legs that have a Lion's Head at the top area and Claw Feet on the bottom. Included with this piece is a glass dish insert that has a pretty embossed pattern.

There are markings on the bottom but they are worn and are hard to read. There is a picture of a crown and I believe the words are: TRADE MARK 18 83 , FB ROGERS SILVER CO.

This piece measures approximately 4 3/4" tall x 5" wide. It does show signs of use such as scratches, scuffs, stains & finish wear consistent with it's intended use. I do not see any dents on it. It is in solid, secure condition and the lid opens and closes smoothly. The glass dish is in nice condition with no cracks or chips. The glass dish measures approximately 3 1/2" wide x 1" tall.

This elegant Silverplate Butter Dish will make a wonderful addition to any Dinnerware Collection!
