Singer Sewing Machine Model 201-2, Very Nice, Loaded With Attachments For Sale
I have for your consideration a very nice Singer Sewing Machine Model 201-2. The serial number is AF-888666 with a production date of April 15, 1941. For those not familiar with the Model 201 it is one of the best domestic sewing machines that Singer ever made. They are totally gear driven (8 gears) and have a potted/built-in motor, no belts to change or break. They are one of the machines that are prefered by quilters. WWW.Sew-Classic.com has very good review of the Model 201. It has a full reverse and the feed dogs can be lowered for free hand sewing. Stitch length can be adjusted to 6 to 30 stitches per inch.
This machine has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All old oil and grease has been removed and replaced. The motor has been disassembled and the motor leads replaced. Itwas reassembled using Singer grease. The brushes are in good condition. Any parts found to be in need of replacement have been replaced.
The motor foot controller has had the wiring replaced as well.
Bobbin winder tire is new as well as the spool pins.
The presser foot clearance has been set at 5/16 of an inch.
The machines finish is in good condition as well as the decals. There is the normal light scratches that are found from normal use. The machine has the nice scroll work cover plates. Overall this is a very attractive machine.
Please review the pictures for they are part of the description.
I sewed one layer of 1/8 inch thick leather, two layers of vinyl and four layers of denim. Examples of material have been included. The machine performed very well. The machine should give another 30 years of good service when properly maintained.
When you recieve the machine it will be ready to use.
The following items are included:
Orginal Singer 201 Manual
Singer Buttonholer with templates.
Singer ZigZager with templates
5 Foot Attachments
1 Small Screwdriver
I do not use words to describe my machines like or similar to "Like New", "Stellar", "Mint", "Excellent" and "Industrial", this machine was made in 1941 and I do not feel that any machine of 70 years of age fall into that category. The machine is in good condition for it's age and one of the better examples from that era.
