REMEMBER THE MAINE" Memorial Hip Flask, Very Fine

3" wide x 4 3/4" long silver hip flask with an embossed image of the Battleship Maine on its oval front.

"Great flask with original silver and gray tarnished patina---with a little cleaning thiswould shine like new if so desired. Complete with original screw-on lid.

Very good original condition with some very minor usage marks commensurate with age.

When the Maine mysteriously blew up in Havana, Cuba, harbor, the U.S. had the excuse it needed to launch a war with Spain. Mementos such as this flask were cherished items from that era.
