Staffordshire Leeds Pearlware Cup Saucer ~yellow Flowers ~ Prattware Color C1820:
English Staffordshire or Leeds Pearlware Prattware Palette Cup and Saucer c1820
~ Hand Painted Rows of Yellow Flowers and Brown Stripes ~
Saucer is 5 1/2" in diameter ~ Cup is 3 1/2" across the lip ~ almost 2 1/4" high
An early English Staffordshire or Leeds pearlware handless cup and saucer both painted with a classic Prattware palette of yellow, orange, blue, green and brown with linking rows of yellow flowers and two brown stripes at the rims. The inside of the cup has orange flower. The bottom of the saucer has a decorator signature of three dots in brown enamel, usually they made these marks with the last color they applied to the piece.
Both pieces are in excellent condition without any chips cracks or repairs and clean pottery. There is some crazing on the pearlware glaze only noticeable on close inspection, this is a fine set without any repairs or touch ups.
