Staffordshire Pearlware Childs Teapot ~ Flower & Chevron ~ Prattware Color C1820 For Sale
English Staffordshire or Leeds Pearlware Prattware Palette Child's Teapot c1820
~ Three Color Chevron Border Design with Orange Flower Sprays ~
4 1/4" high to top of finial ~ about 5 1/2" from spout to handle
An early English Staffordshire or Leeds pearlware tiny or miniature teapot, either a child's version or small bachelor pot. The lid and shoulder have the same tiny chevron painted in orange brown and green, with a small flower spray on each side, brown stripes around the rims and tiny brown checks painted on the handle and top of spout.
Please use the photos as part of the condition report; there are no repairs. There are some long cracks, two on each side coming down from the top rim, one (seen above) ends at the shoulder, the other goes below and fans in two directions. The spout and handle are excellent, there's a tiny nick at the shoulder, and the lid has a tiny chip unseen underneath. Sold as found, still quite lovely.
Below you can see what is the longer crack coming down from the rim and splitting in both directions; on the right there is a small flake out of the crack.
