Steel? Chatelaine 19th Century Folding Scissors, Thimble, Needlecase For Sale
A steel (I think) Chatelaine, with the usual tools: a pair of folding scissors; a bucket, lined with red velvet, for a thimble; what I guess is a penknife, but it won't open; a wheel with red velvet liner, for pins; a needlecase that unscrews at the top end. There is a thimble in the bucket, and it fits perfectly but it is very bright and shiny and I think it is not the original. The steel -if that's what it is - is marked, but would probably clean. There is a brass? back to the decorative head, and a brass hook to fasten the chatelaine over the waistband or belt. This is 19th century, I am sure, but when, I don't know. Size overall length 33 cm. I am selling other sewing/textile items so please have a look at my other listings; I will combine postage.
