Sterling Silver And Shell Pocket Travel Corkscrew - Circa 1780:
An unusual sterling silver pocket corkscrew with a Faux T shell handle, decorated with inlaid abalone shell. The shell design is on both sides. The silver is bright cut in a diamond pattern.
The steel corkscrew has a grooved helix with a good sharp point. The sheath screws on nice and tight.
There are no silver marks on this piece but it is most likely English, circa 1780.
The condition is good on this Eighteenth Century Corkscrew. A small , roundel of mother of pearl shell is missing . Some minor dings to the silver, nothing major, just mentioned for accuracy. Worm is in very good condition.
Measures approximately 3” x 1½”.
