Stirling Hot Air Engine And Live Steam Engine Machine Tools Mounted:
Here we have a Stirling Hot Air Engine powered set of Mamod Machine tools, all mounted on an Oak base. I can't say with certainty who is the maker of the engine, but its flywheel and cranks have the definite look of Jensen manufacture. I have not run this engine in years, and it needs a good cleaning, but the engine is free wheeling and has been lightly oiled to keep it so. Also, the Lineshaft and Tools are Mamod, and also could stand a good dusting. The alcohol tank is in a recessed area under the "Hot" end of the cylinder and is reached via a screwed-on cover underneath the base. I seem to recall this set-up being able to run in excess of 30 minutes on a filling when we used to set-up our display of steam items at model train shows. My old Partner constructed a "boiler" shell of sorts with chimney flue that simply sits over the "Hot" end of the cylinder and is there simply for decorative appearance. Hopefully one of you good model machine shop or model steam collectors can give this model a good and useful home. The Model on its base weighs between 5 and 6 pounds, so shipping costs will likely be somewhat expensive. Successful buyer agrees to pay shipping costs and payment will be expected thru Paypal. Good luck and happy steaming!!! :-)
