Straight Sided Pepsi, Arcadia Florida Perfect:
I can't imagine a better example of this extremely uncommon ss Pepsi. No cracks, chips, dings, fleabites, etc. or even casewear. It is as if the bottle were filled once, taken home and left in a box or in the attic, It's a blown bottle with applied top, the embossing is bold and I am certain it has never been tumbled. In block print in an oval slug plate it is embossed Pepsi.Cola bottling Works Arcadia, Fla.What more can I say. Check out the pictures. Feel free to ask if you have any questions. On May-20-13 at 10:40:45 PDT, seller added the following information:
Since this bottle is generating a good bit of information I thought I'd add a picture or two and some information. On the backside of this bottle is a tiny flake of glass that appears to have adhered on the outside of the bottle during its manufacture as the bottle was cooling but still very hot I believe flakes of this type could only have been produced as the bottle was broken loose from the blowpipe where sometimes small chips will fly off, the chip here coming from this bottle or possibly from an adjacent glassblower. I mention this only for completeness. I actually think it's pretty cool- shows the bottle was handmade and that it was never tumbled as almost certainly the flake would have been removed. I also found the following embossing on the heel of the bottle:NBBG Co which stands for North Baltimore Bottle Glass Co. N. Baltimore, Ohio 1885-1930.This bottle was found at a recent sale in Homestead/Florida City of the estate of Glenn Simmons (Google the Wikepedia article on him and there are others as well) He was an early Florida settler, gladesman, gator hunter, writer, recipient of numerous awards etc.notable for his construction of early everglades boats. He was also a horse trader of sorts, loved old bottles and could have picked this one up maybe 60 years ago.On May-22-13 at 08:18:16 PDT, seller added the following information:
Adding another picture for completeness. I don't want anyone to be disappointed. There is some light contents stain, tough to photograph but I think it shows in the last photo.
