Stunning Antique Art Nouveau Embroidered Silk & Lace Pagoda Parasol Umbrella For Sale
This is a lovely antique French Art Nouveau coffee coloured silk Pagoda parasol with embroidery and a 3 inch wide Valenciennes lace flounce! The handle and finial are of Japanned wood, carved and shaped into a lovely artistic curl. The structure is metal and works better that most modern day umbrellas The lining is a pale Naples yellow, no tears but a couple of tiny, tiny stains The beautiful coffee colour silk is in amazing condition, only one tiny hole 1/8 of an inch in diameter and could easily be mended. The lace has been dyed to match the silk, it is most probably machine made and it is perfect. It has come apart from the silk in one place, this could also be mended.The parasol measures 36 inches long and 28 inches in diameter when open.An oh so elegant detail for a period reenactment! or a collector of silk parasols.Any questions?
