Riling`s Powder Flask book says: "1050 and 1050-2 show two examples of Dixon flasks. The decor shows highland hunters with their kill of stags packed on their horses. Their dogs in the right foreground are chained together. The picture panel is topped by a game head formed from fern and leaf and this is surmounted by highland thistle foliage. The decor appears on one face. The graduated chargers on the Patent tops are scaled from 2¼ to 3 drams.

Four original suspension rings are present. The brass collar has the 3 original steel screws.

The charging unit has been marked by the maker: JAMES DIXON & SONS - SHEFFIELD.
