For sale we have the amazing and very sought after ORIGINAL 30s/40s WW2 Leather FLIGHT/PILOT (Motorcycle) Jacket

No size label (fits like a Small/Medium), measurements are as follows….20.5inch - Armpit to armpit, 24.5inch - Top of shoulder (not including collar) to bottom of jacket, 23.5inch - Top of shoulder seam to outside cuff, 17inch - Shoulder seam to shoulder seam, 16inch - Armpit to inside cuff

This is a 100% original 1930s/40s Vintage Motorcycle Jacket and the same model JAcket as worn by the German Luftwaffe Pilot-aces during the 2nd World War. Often referred to as the 'Cyclist' Jacket, the German Luftwaffe authorised their procurement via private purchase in 1940. These style Jackets had been worn by civilians throughout Europe since about 1920. These Jackets were popular amongst the german fighter pilots due to their Lightweight, close cut and because they could be worn comfortably in the tighter confines of the closed cockpit. This particular Jacket is i believe a Danish Model. Made by Fjelsted - Holstebro. The main Zipper is a Ball and Chain 'RUHR' The rest of the zippers are very rare 'GUSUM' Zippers which were of Swedish manufacture. Gusums were the first company in Sweden to produce the modern zipper based on Gideon Sundback's early Talon designs. (Sundback, also of Swedish origin is acredited as the man who was instrumental in creating the modern zipper for Talon)

This is most definitely a civilian Jacket but still a Stunning and extremely rare, collectable example.

Features…. Black (possibly Horsehide) Leather, cotton felt lining, Cuff zips with Gusum Zippers, 2 chest pockets with Gusum Zippers, Main 'RUHR; Ball and chain Zipper, 2 front Hand Zip pockets with Gusum zippers, Small Metal front Belt. Side metal Buckle Straps. Based on research into Gusum and the style of the jacket aswell as the zippers, has to date this to 1930s/40s

CONDITION/FLAWS

Please note all my jackets are VERY OLD, RARE, GENUINE VINTAGE leathers. Some of them will have been worn for over half a century, they will show signs of use, general wear, marks, scuffs etc. I try to describe as accurately as possible but what i may consider to be an amazing vintage Leather with a stunning Patina might be seen by someone else completely differently. Vintage clothing is not for everyone so please be aware before offerding. Thanks

STUNNING overall Vintage condition, with no real faults. extremely light wear only. All zippers function perfectly. Lining in great order too. Only fault is the presence of some very faint writing on back shoulder. Overall a Truly Superb example.
