ANTIQUE CHINESE TIBETAN 24K GOLD STATUE OF AMITAYUS BUDDHA
Beautifully festooned with a traditional, bejeweled necklace, the Buddha is seated with legs crossed in the lotus position, hands together in Prayer holding an Ornament, above an integral lotus base. An outstanding casting, among the finest of metalwork. Exceptional hand-engraving throughout sections of the robe. Amitayus is a Buddha who increases our lifespan, merit, and wisdom. He is the Enjoyment Body aspect of Buddha Amitabha. Traces of gold-gilt throughout tested and verified as 24k gold throughout. Probably a bronze copper alloy. Measures 7" (18cm) in height, heavy casting at 1.15 kg (2.5 lb). Judging by the wear and style, this piece most probably dates to sometime in the 18th/19th century or later.
