It is in excellent condition considering its age. It is extremely rare to find one in such good condition.

It measures 13 1/2\" at the highest point including the pediment. The vitrine itself measures 11 3/4 in height, by 8\" in width and 5 1/4 in depth.

These globes were used to keep the wedding crown or tiara ofthe bride. Each globeis different.It is a souvenir of the wedding, Usually the mother of the bride would hirea watchmaker or jeweler who, at the time, would use presses to mold the brass leaves, they would then be assembled and gilded.The flowers, leaves and trims would be made according to the specifications of the mother.Each item had a symbolic value.Most often, at the top of each globe would be a dove symbolizing peace and love.-Ivy leaves that symbolize the attachment,-Basswood leaves to symbolize fidelity.-Oak leaves, symbol of strength and love,-Fig leaves and clusters of grapes, symbols of success and abundance.-Ears of wheat, symbols of fertility.(They were often presented with the number 7 to remind the 7 days of the weekduring which the husband had to work to feed his family.)There are also:-Four leaves clovers, symbol ofhappiness and good luck.-Daisy flowers(the flower that young lovers ripen humming the small well-known song: I love you, a little, much...)The mirrors are also symbolic:The great mirror of the center, which symbolizes sincerity, loyalty.\"The mirror does not lie, it reflects what it sees.\"Rectangle-shaped mirrors recalled the years that the couple had been courting.The mirrors in the form of lozenges or triangles represented children that thenewlyweds wanted.
