Absolutely gorgeous & rare antique 1700-1800 Georgian era 3.5\" snuff box, a striking piece with hand painted portrait miniature, 14k gold framework and natural shell or horn body! A museum quality piece, something you wouldn\'t be surprised to see on display in the Napoleon III apartments in the Louvre! A Georgian lady, beautifully hand painted on a thin natural wafer. The snuff box itself is in carved shell or horn, you can see the grain in several of the photos. A lovely portrait, a rare and nearly pristine Georgian snuff box! Don\'t miss this treasure! Very good-excellent condition. No age cracks or chips to the shell or horn box, no missing gold trim and the portrait is in great shape. See pictures for measurements.

Insurance has been eliminated as an option by , forcing us sellers to either ship your items without insurance or assume that expense also. We always insure our items BUT, more importantly, pack them extremely well knowing that most are not replacable. Our shipping days are Tuesday and Friday, paid items will be shipped on the first shipping day after payment is recieved (except when special circumstances exist). We prefer to use USPS whenever possible, and require all packages to be insured. If you prefer another method of shipment, please mention it. We charge only actual expense of shipment/insurance, except in the case of larger items which must have special wood crates built. Wood crate charge, when applicable, is a flat $35.00 in addition to actual postage & insurance charges.
