For sale is a fun inkwell set made by KPM in the early 20th century during the Art Nouveau / Jugendstil period. The set consists of the inkwell with its insert and lid as well as the inkwell tray. The inkwell as well as the tray are hand painted with amazing floral designs that are very detailed and they have a superb trim design including this nice shaded maroon color, yellow ground and fancy gilding. The inkwell itself has little busts as handles which are quite fun to look at. A bit hard to describe all the detail but there are lots of pictures to look at as always. The entire piece with its lid in place is about 4 inches tall, 8.375 inches wide and 6.75 inches deep. The set displays superbly but the lid has one side of the finial chipped, the insert has a chip to the top rim as shown and the inkwell tray has a chip to the left side of the left front foot which isn\'t obvious when on display. A rare set and really fun to look at! The bottom of the tray is marked as shown with the under glaze blue scepter mark as well as the red orb mark, painter\'s / gilder\'s marks and the usual impressed marks.
