It is in very good vintage condition. No problems. Amazingly clean for its age. There are 18 glowing silver colour symbolic jewels. Nicely detailed and glows like magic. The backing is a lovely warm red velvet. Hhighly impressive workmanship. Each jewel is profound and meaningful. This Jewel Chain is both decorative and historic. QUITE A BEAUTIFUL ITEM! We are not jewelers and can only say that the colouring is silver. Could possibly be plated, but could also be a nice silvery type of metal (such as nickel). And if the jewels were marked for silver, our price would be far higher then what this gem is being listed for. One cannot go wrong. The maker here is the famous \"Harding Regalia\" of Boston, Massachusetts. Inspired by Freemasonry, the Odd Fellows as a movement came to America from England (eventually splitting from the “Manchester Unity Order of Odd Fellows”) and by the 1880\'s they had become one of the largest (and due to their phenomenal insurance benefits, they at one time were THE largest) of all so-called \"Secret\" or Fraternal Societies in the United States (even outnumbering the Masons).
