This magnificent pair is
unmarked but likely Japanese in origin, viewing the superb quality of the
casting, the realistic detail, the lifelike poses, and most of all the striking
patina that has developed.
The photographs tell the
story better than words can. The
pigeons are in excellent condition. I see no damage whatsoever, and no flaws
past what may have occurred during the casting process. There are no repairs on the pieces.
Other than the look and feel
and the character of the work, there is no direct clue to age.
