A Superb Staffordshire Pearlware Prattware Embossed Border Child's Plate c1820

~ Flying the Kite ~

5 5/8" in diameter

A very finely potted English Staffordshire pearlware nursery or child's plate with border of raised flowers and leaves carefully painted with classic prattware palette high fire underglaze colors; blue, green and ochre. The border is also painted with two fine brown stripes on the inner and outer rims. The center has a lovely rural blue transferware print of two boys flying a kite near a cottage.

In excellent condition; there is one tiny old chip to the rim at 8 o'clock that sort of blends in and isn't that noticeable at all. The back is all smooth surfaces.
