This is a stunning, superb quality sterling silver Antique Victorian circa 1890 Scottish citrine and malachite bracelet. The bracelet has a central section with wonderful engraved panels and a stunning Cairngorm citrine. This is a fabulous high quality piece with original snap type clasp.I have collected agates in Scotland for over 20 years and know where most of the lovely gemstones that Victorians used for their classic jewellery were found.
During Queen Victorias reign Scottish craftsmen used many different stones from all over Scotland to produce fabulous jewellery which the Queen highly favoured. Other stones including green malachite from Africa was also used by these lapidary ( stone cutting and polishing ) experts to produce stunning pieces. The central stone is a stunning facetted golden citrine from the Cairngorm mountain range that has been fully tested by a local jeweller and is a genuine citrine.
The bracelet has no hallmarks which is fairly normal for pieces of this period, but has been fully tested and is sterling silver.The length is approx. 17.4 cm ( Just under seven inches ) and the push type clasp is in good working condition and original. The bracelet width at it\'s widest point is 4.0 cm ( One and three fifth inches ).
