Superb Late 1800s/early 1900s Chinese Hand Painted Snuff Bottle W Cinnabar Lid:
Presented is a lovely antique Chinese glass and cinnabar snuff bottle, dating to
the late 1800s or early 1900s. The bottle itself is clear glass with an elegant
frosted look, likely Peking glass. both sides are hand painted in colorful
polychrome enamel, with a scene of a crowd of figures in traditional Chinese
garb. The lid of the bottle is beautiful red cinnabar, intricately hand carved
into a design of cherries or plums surrounded by blossoms, leaves, and branches.
The bottle is a large size and quite an exceptional quality piece to add to any
collection; in fact, the underside has an acquisition/collection number,
indicating it was either in a museum's collection or a particularly high end
breaks, and no repairs.
