Survivor 1953 Wurlitzer 1500-a 1500a Silver Age Jukebox Juke Box Coin Op Music For Sale
Have you been looking for that survivor quality Wurlitzer 1500-A Jukebox to restore? This is an original survivor that is from a Midwest family. We are offering two this week from different families.
This machine needs to be disassembled and cleaned, and will probably need a lube and amp rebuild from age. This model was produced in 1953 and is a striking machine. It is the only jukebox that was designed to play 45s and 78s intermixed. This machine is very colorful lit and have a great sound. It is not working and does have some loose parts. When they are restored, they are very striking. The large machine, glass dome, and colorful pilasters make this a winner.
The 1500 of 1953 are styled differently than the '52 models, having a curved glass dome and no top crest panel. There are front grill styling differences as well. These jukeboxes were Wurlitzer's first high capacity mech (104 selections on 52 records) that could automatically intermix play of 10" 78's and 7" 45 RPM discs. While the highly-visible rexcord changers put on quite a show changing records, The 1500 series jukes weigh in at about 450 lbs due to size.

The cabinet is nice but could use a refinish The dome glass and pilasters are perfect, and the back doors are present. Mechanically, it does not play. The patina is superb! The photos do a great job documenting the condition. We could not find any repro parts on this box. Note the nice shape of the original chrome, trim, glass and plastic.
This example would make a great addition to anyone’s rec room, bar room, collection, media room, or arcade. Best of all, there is . We will let the market determine the value on this RARE piece. Best of luck in the sale.
Additional sale Details
Because of it’s age and the above, it is sold strictly as-is-as shown. That being said, please see my response and offer with confidence. If you have not owned a jukebox before, these are not CD players, and being 50 years old can be temperamental and are not meant for continuous use all day long. These are meant for occasional use and not for continuous or bar usage.
In addition, there are scrapes and scuffs on the box as you can see in the photos. The good news is that they reproduce most of the jukebox in the event of a problem, and there are many people that repair them. The most likely time of trouble is when they are moved.
