Svn Arvn State Of Viet Nam Original Medal 1949 Sketch/proposal - One Of A Kind:
You are offerding on 2 sketches of the 2 Quoc Gia Viet Nam Medals that only existed in specimen (very first image)This is ONE OF A KIND ORIGINAL SKETCH from the Vietnamese Architect who were responsible for designing all new medals for the new country Quoc Gia Viet Nam in 1948.
The sketches were cut out from the original plan/proposal to Vietnam Chief of State Bao Dai (Quoc Truong Bao Dai). Before 1945, during the Nguyen Dynasty, the highest award medal was called "ANNAM DRAGON ORDER" (An Nam Long Tinh)
From 1950-1975, the highest award medal for "Quoc Gia Viet Nam" and "Viet Nam Cong Hoa" was the "NATIONAL ORDER" (Bao Quoc Huan Chuong)The sketch was done around 1948 to propose new medals for an independent country that had just ended the Annam Monarchy.
Before Bao Dai to come back to Vietnam and to accept the new position as Chief of State, everything must be prepared.
This was one of those things.
One of the two that you see here is the sketch for Bao Quoc Huan Chuong (National Order) - Transtional Period (1948-1949) - The center has the Head of the Dragon Design with the words QGVN
The other is the sketch for Quan Cong Boi Tinh (Military Merit Medal) - Transitional Period Version (1948-1949) - On top of the Flag in the center disk, you will see the word QGVN when you view it in full color picture.
The original sketch was in Color & Pencil Sketch.
When I took the photo to list on , I don't want to list them in full color to hide the valuable little details and colors.
Only the winner/owner of this sketch should be able to see and know the full details.
Hence, I listed it in Black and White effect.Am I crazy or a crook when I listed the sketches at $1000? No, absolutely not. I am very reasonable and sane. I know exactly what I have and its true value.
Because of the its historical value, very important period for a new country about to be formed, for its rarity, one of a kind, my starting price is JUST and FAIR.
It's not the item that you see everyday and I know it is the 1st time for many medal collectors to see it or hear about it.Not only I have the sketch, I also have the original specimen medal in perfect condition. I may offer this medal to the right owner (If he can truly afford it) or the winner of this sale.FYI: I also have a full proposal/clay sculpture (in film negatives) of a whole new line of medals and new National Emblem near the end of the First Republic Of Vietnam and after the coup d'etat around September 1963 - November 1963 from famous Architect Ngo Viet Thu & Sculptor Nguyen Van The to the President Ngo Dinh Diem and to the new Vietnam leaders after Diem (1963-1965).
They are in original album with name of medals and these negatives that had not been developed ever since. For the National Leader's Eyes only.
None of these were ever mentioned in Mr. Sylvester's book about SVN Medals or any other books that were written about Annam Traditional/French Indochina/Vietnam/South Vietnamese Medals.
For example, there were Kien Thiet Boi Tinh, Cong Chanh Boi Tinh, Dien Dia Boi Tinh ....in these albums.
I am showing a few photos of these albums & 1 original negative in this album which ARE NOT INCLUDED in this aution. This is the photo of the back of specimen medal called "Kinh Te Boi Tinh" in 1961 which only existed in proposal & specimen. For those who don't know about Ngo Viet Thu or Nguyen Van The, see the additional articles which I posted here.
Architect Ngo Viet Thu is the one who designed South Vietnam President Palace (Independent Palace)
Sculptor Nguyen Van The is also very famous who created the Trung Sister Memorial Statue at Me Linh Square before 1963 which was destroyed right after the fall of First Republic.Again, you are only offerding on the original sketch which is the 1st photo. The rest of the photos are for information and not included in this sale. READ! READ! READ!Yes, I stand behind my words 100%. All my words are true, precise and correct. I guarantee the authenticity of this sketch.ALL SALES ARE FINAL.
