Description:
1 vintage Swiss World War I 1911 sawback bayonet available. This bayonet
would make an important addition to any bayonet or World War I
collection.This blade of this bayonet measures 18 7/8". This bayonet measures 24" overall. The
blade is stamped with the Swiss cross, and 'H.S.'. The wood handle scales
are secured with round pins. The crossguard is stamped with the serial
# '62854'. The blackened metal scabbard has a leather tab attached to it still. There is also the small arsenal or inspection mark 'P' in two places at the scabbard throat.
Condition:
This vintage WWI era Swiss bayonet is in rare condition. The blade on this bayonet is in nearly perfect condition. There is no oxidation at all on the blade, or on
the guard. The pommel has some superficial staining. The blade edge is nearly perfect. The bayonet locking mechanism functions perfectly. The scabbard is missing one screw at its throat. The scabbard's blackened finish is nearly 98%.
