Tether Car, Dooling, Mccoy, Gas Powered Style Model For Sale

Tether Car, Dooling, Mccoy, Gas Powered Style Model

I am relisting this item for a friend who originally listed it last week. Sorry for the inconvenience caused by ending previous sale early. There simply were problems with the listing which they could not edit for some unknown reason so I offered to list it for them. This is a static model built by master machinist Chuck Kruger. It's more like a piece of jewelry than a race car. Many in MECA and the tether car community know Chuck as he has done extensive work for many of them. Several cars in the late Clark Smiths collection carried Chucks hand made motors. Chuck ran the Machining Program at Pikes Peak Community College for two decades. This car is a reflection of that extensive experience. He spent countless hours creating this racer using old school manual mills and lathes - no CNC. It's a true one of a kind.Wheelbase is 10.5", overall length 15.5". The motor utilizes a custom crankcase that Chuck casts - it's extraordinary. With a bit more work the motor could actually run as many of his creations do. Drive line turns all four cylinders smoothly. Car resembles a Bonneville or Ormond Beach Land Speed Record car from the Frank Lockhart era. Bottom pan is from a Russian kit as is the gear box which Chuck modified. Top of car was hand shaped from a solid block of aluminum. Wheels and tires are new Hornet Mites. Everything else is hand made. Paint isn't perfect but is a very nice, glossy presentation with no runs - slight orange peel on bottom of pan. Only thing possibly left to do on car , if you wish, would be to provide a driver in the cockpit. However, car looks great as is. This is an absolute sale with - the car will sell. Ask questions you may have as sale is final with no returns offered. Please study pictures as they are an important part of description. Additional photos available if needed. Thanks for your interest - good luck. Prompt payment expected please. Ignore s estimated shipping costs..you will pay actual shipping costs only which may include box cost !
