This sale is for one of the best Japanese carved ox bone netsukes that we have ever seen. The detail in the work is unmatched and shows an elaborate scene of many figures and animals on and around a moving cart or carriage being pulled by an ox. It is accented with dragons and birds and has a large figure sitting on the top. It is signed on the base and shows absolutely incredible detail. It stands 2.75 inches (7cm) tall and is in excellent condition. We did find on very fine and hard to see natural line in the ivory on the back that does not take away from the piece at all. Just an incredible and finely carved Japanese ox bone netsuke.
