THE MOST BEAUTIFUL 11" EARLY ARMAND MARSEILLE 1894 DEPOSE WITH ORIGINAL CLOTHES
This is an absolutely beautiful little cabinet-sized early Armand Marseille 1894 Depose (made for the French market.)
She is marked on the back of her head/neck:
AM 5/0. DEP
She measures just 11 inches in height, and has an open crown bisque socket head, and (original)fully jointed wooden body and limbs.
Her bisque socket head is flawless and exquisitely beautiful-it has nohairlines, no rubbing, chips or other damage. Her colouring is truly exquisite, virtually 'factory fresh' in appearance, with rubs, fading or marks to mar her beauty.
Her beautiful large hazel-coloured glass eyes are fixed/do not sleep - but this is correct /how she was made (she is a very early A.M. 1894 Dep). Her hazel eyes are a very rarely-seen much sought-after colour.
She has very nicely defined (original) eyebrows, andexquisitely long delicately painted (original) eyelashes, she also retains her originaleye and nostril accent dots.
She has an open mouth with pretty 'cupids bow' lips (her lip colour is perfect and unrubbed/unfaded), sheretains allfour original teeth (upper lip) in perfect undamaged condition.
She retains her original cardboard pate. Her beautifulred/auburnvery long human-hair wig is also original to her, and is in superb condition, being beautifully soft, clean and shiny with no loss or fading. Her wig is firmly glued-on, and does not appear to have ever been removed - however as she doesn't have 'sleep' eyes, this will not cause any problems when she is shipped/posted to her new home . . .
Her fully-jointed wooden body and limbs are in superb condition. She retains her original stringing, which is in very good condition..
She retains all her fingers and toes in perfect undamaged condition. Her body and limbs retains extremely good even overall original 'flesh-coloured' paintwork (she has no overpainting and her paintwork has virtually no age-related yellowing).
Her body and limbs have the only theoddvery very minor, tinylight age-related surface paint rub (around her joints, commensurate with age) none of which merit individual note. She is a truly beautiful little doll in superb original condition.
This darling little antique doll must have been some little girls treasured companion - as she extremely well provided for! She is still wearing all her original beautiful clothes, and also has her own little antique leather-bound velvet lined wooden trunk/case which is packed full of extra clothes and accessories.
Her original outfit (the one she's wearing in my photos) consists of the following:
Antique cotton three-quarter length pantalettes edged with delicate antique lace trim. A plain sleeveless cotton full length under dress. A three-quarter length plain sleeveless FRENCH-MADE underdress which still retains its original paper label (see photos) of BON MARCHE 3 3/4. Original antique cream/ivory coloured stocking. Delightful original antique shoes, made of soft cream leather, with leather soles, cream ribbon ties, and tiny little bronze 'faux' buckles on the fronts. Antique cream wool underskirt with hand embroidered feather stitching around the hemline. A full length antique cotton underskirt with delicate lace edging. Another antiquefull length lace trimmed underskirt. The sweetest little red padded vest/corset? with cream linen ties. Over this she wears her dress, which is still absolutely beautiful despite its rather fragile condition - it is made of pale green silk, trimmed with delicately worked antique lace, and has a charming deep antique lace sash which fastens around the waist. The silk sleeves of her dress are very frayed , but complete, and the silk skirt is complete buthas some frayed areas and age related marks.
Her miniature 'chatelaine' (consisting of the tiniest ever bronze watch and ring of keys) is NOT antique/original to her - it has been made especially for her (by me). The pale blue lace ribbonit hangs fromis antique!
She is holding a very sweet little purse/bag made from beautiful antique embroidered silk.
Her beautiful bonnet is one that I have made especially for her, using scraps of antique victorian lace, green velvet ribbon, littlehand-dyed antique feathers, and lots of wonderful antique cream and ivory wax flowers.
Her tiny 'Bebe' brooch is not original to her - I have made it especially for her using alittle antique mother of pearl gold backed button, handpainted with minature sprays of violets and pansies.
The little brass birdcage and its tiny 'bluebird' occupant areNOT antique items - the have also been made especially for her (again, by me).
Her little cream satin? short cape is trimmed with old gold braid and antique lace and fastens at the neck with cream silk ribbons.
A tiny antique green velvet hair ribbon bow.
Thelittle wooden box/trunk/case? than contain all her other belongings is definitely antique - of the correct era. It is leatherbound and lined with green velvet. The leather is somewhat rubbed dues to its age (see photos). The box lid is decorated with pale pink antique lace and pretty little brass bows. The front of the box is decorated with a large brass ribbon/bow. The box does not have an inner 'tray' (I'm not sure if it originally had one).
The contents of her little trunk are as follows:
A prettydelicateantique cream crocheted shawl.
A little antique pinklace wrapper/scarf which matches the lace on the lid of her trunk.
Another hand made lace/corcheted antique shawl, this one is pale blue and cream.
A short sleeved antique cotton blouse.
A pretty antiqueblue 'sailor-type' skirt with hand embroidered feather stitched hemline.
A wonderful hand made extremely old/antique pale blue/grey 'boater' type hat.
A pretty emerald green handmade antique silk dress with ivory lace trim.
A miniature faux pearl and bronze antique hatpin.
A darling antique minature cross and chain (white metal).
Another pretty antique mother of pearl brooch (I have replaced the catch/fastening on the back as the orginal was missing).
An antique ivory lace 'bow' on a tiny pin (fastens to her wig).
A pretty minature brass heart shaped faux locket on a chain (made especially for her, by me.)
A charming miniature replica antique bronze handmirror and matching replica antique comb.
A last butnot least at miniature (but fully readable) book - THE THREE BEARS (an early edition, of course!)
