This Is The Oldest And Crudest Jsp Bottle You Will Ever See For Sale
If you collect JSP bottles this is one you must have. This is by far the oldest and crudest one that I have ever seen. It looks like black glass until you shine some light through it and then you can see that it was blown from a dark, sea green colored glass. It has a wonderful whittled texture and all kinds of bubbles and inclusions. As you can see in the photos there are five or more wavy lines of tiny dots that wind around the bottle. It stands about 9 1/4" tall and is 2 3/8" in diameter. The lip is a poorly executed wide, sloping band with a narrow, sloping, collar underneath it. Below that are a couple of flows of glass that have escaped. This all sits atop a long neck. The base has a 1/4" flat area around the outside then falls into a sunken dome. There is a blue, 2 cent, U.S. INTER. REV. PROPRIETARY stamp with a picture of George Washington, adhered to it. The body has a band around the bottom that is pinched in a bit and the right hand side has a large, caved-in area(see photos). In the middle of the front side is embossed the intertwined letters J S P which stood for Joseph S. Pederson. The style of this embossing is very different than the other bottles I have. The letters are thick and deeply incised into the glass. This is truly a unique piece. I am forced to put a reserve on this one to protect my investment.Thank you for NOTE: I lost both of my legs in a work accident and now I am forced to rely on some unreliable young adults to go to the P. O. for me. I will do my best to expedite the shipping of your purchase but please bear with me as things are out of my control.
