Tin Friction 1955 New Ford Convertible Car Original Box Haji Japan For Sale
I'm selling a very nice tin friction 1955 Ford convertible and original box made by Haji of Japan. The beautiful little car measures 7 1/2 inches or 19 centimeters long and it comes complete with its original box. The car is in excellent, lightly played with condition and the box is in pretty good shape with a good amount of wear. Haji made a series of 7 1/2 inch Ford cars, both in a hardtop version and a convertible model. Though small, the car have a great deal of detail and look great. I believe that the 1955 version was the first of the series, it is one of the most detailed and one of the nicest. This particular car has great color; the paint has a beautiful surface with very little wear. There are a few small paint chips and a few small rubs; there is also one very small area of paint touch up on the right hand side of the interior, see photo #8. The chrome trim is bright and shiny for the most part; there are some areas of darkening, particularly the middle sections of several of the hubcaps and on some small areas on the front and back bumper. The base is in excellent condition and the friction motor works well. The windshield "glass" is all original and it is in great shape. The original box has very nice color and a good overall appearance but it has a good deal more wear than the tin car. There are two small pieces of cardboard missing, two small areas without any graphics that tuck the side flap in to the box. Other that that the box is complete. There is some tape on the inner parts of the corners of the box and even with the tape, there corners look a bit rumpled. Still, the box does display well, the imagery on the box is so strong that the wear doesn't detract that much from the overall appearance. This is a very nice version of a classic tin 1950's Ford.
