Todd McFarlane original artwork for Amazing Spider-Man #314 page 3 featuring Peter Parker, Aunt May and Mary Jane Parker. Published in 1989, this was done when McFarlane’s run was in full swing and making Amazing Marvel’s flagship title once again to launch the early 90’s comic boom. The fine McFarlane artistry was definitely high energy and full of angst. Look at all that exceptional linework penciled and inked by Todd on the page as Peter and MJ have been evicted on Christmas Eve. You can genuinely see the concern and feelings of each character and how they deal with this setback. Such an awesome take on the characters we’ve known for so long, McFarlane broke free of the house style for drawing Spidey and forged new possibilities for excellence. You might say that Spidey stories are Superior these days, but the greatness of Peter and his supporting cast is what made Spider-Man so Amazing. Good Luck!!!
