Twa Convair 880 Original Airline Travel Poster For Sale
TWA had high hopes for the Convair 880, a four-engine jet it hoped would prove more popular with passengers than the Boeing 707s and Douglas DC-8s its competitors were flying on domestic routes. Alas, the Convair was a dud. Few airlines ordered it – Delta was the other U.S. carrier to fly it – and only 65 were made between 1959 and 1962 when General Dynamics shut down the assembly line once and for all. This original poster, by David Klein, was produced to promote the arrival of the Convair which TWA promised would deliver speed … luxury … and dependability. It’s 25” x 40” and other than very, very minor wear at the upper right (scroll over to see it), it’s absolutely perfect in every way.
