Two Very Early 1979-83 Byers Choice Carolers With Music, Hand Made Faces & Bases For Sale

This isalot of two Byers' Choice Carolers from the early 1980s with the bumpy hand molded bases, which are hand signed and dated.

Both have clay molded and painted faces, paper over wire armature bodies and clay feet attached to hand molded bases painted green. The clothes are fastened with enamel covered straight pins, and made of wool like materials. The hair issoft fur.

Thesmaller, earlier one from 1979 has grey wool cap, very nicely molded face, navy blue jacket, plaid scarf and grey twill pants. His music is blank and has light tears and wear. He is about 9.25" tall. His base is hand marked: BYERS 79.The bottom of the base is lined with green felt and has a gold decal: BYERS' CHOICE / HILLTOWN, PA. Tiny 2mm green line on left cheek.

The taller 10.5" one holds a Joyeux Noelpiece of music in his hand, has a red cutaway coat, grey striped pants, plaid neck scarf, grey cap with green feltivy leaves and green band. He has hand signed base: BYERS 83.The bottom ofbase has green felt and gold decal sticker that reads: BYERS CHOICE LTD c. 1983. His music has light creases.
